St. Johann im Walde er en kommune med 306 indbyggere i distriktet Lienz i Tirol i Østrig. Kommunen ligger i retskredsen Lienz. St. Johann im Walde ligger i den forreste Iseldal mellem Ainet og Huben. St. Johann im Walde gennemstrømmes af Isel. De vigtigste bifloder er Michelbach mod vest og Leibnitzbach mod øst. Dalbunden ligger i en havhøjde på 740 meter. Mod vest stiger kommuneområdet op til Villgratner-bjergene. De højeste toppe i kommunen er her Hohe Stierbichl og Teblenspitze. Mod øst ligger Schobergruppen med Kreuzspitze og Rotspitzen.
