Tirols Folkemuseum ligger i det tidligere Franziskanerkloster ved siden af Innsbruck Hofkirche, i umiddelbar nærhed af den gamle bydel. Det er et af de fem huse i Tiroler Landesmuseen.
I 1888 besluttede Tirols Handelsforening at opføre et „Tirolsk Handelsmuseum“ i Innsbruck: En prøveopsamling, der skulle give inspiration og retningslinjer til det tirolske håndværk, som var truet af industrialiseringen, skulle skabes. Derfor gjaldt den oprindelige indsamlingsaktivitet især nutidige produkter af høj håndværksmæssig kvalitet.
