Stubaitalstationen blev opført i 1903 og var indtil 1983 endestationen for Stubaitalbanen i Innsbruck. Siden 1983 er togene fra Fulpmes blevet ført forbi stationen, gennem byområdet i Innsbruck. I daglig tale skelnes der mellem den "Gamle Stubaitalstation", som refererer til stationsområdet og bygningen fra 1904, og den "Nye Stubaitalstation" som den nuværende driftsplads for Innsbruck Transport Services.
