La estación de tren de Stubaital fue construida en 1903 y fue la estación final del tren de Stubaital en Innsbruck hasta 1983. Desde 1983, los trenes que vienen de Fulpmes pasan por la estación y continúan a través de la zona urbana de Innsbruck. En lenguaje coloquial se distingue entre el "Antiguo Stubaitalbahnhof", que se refiere al terreno y edificio de la estación de 1904, y el "Nuevo Stubaitalbahnhof", que es el actual depósito de los Servicios de Transporte de Innsbruck.
