Description

Sint-Britiuskirken er landsbyens kirke i delområdet Etikhove. Vigningen til den hellige Britius henviser til den tidlige middelalder, hvor hengivenheden for denne helgen var populær. Kirken har gennemgået et betydeligt antal ombygninger. På facaden over døbefontens kapel finder vi årstallet 1768. På bagsiden ser vi årstallet 1837 med de murede initialer PVO, som henviser til mureren Petrus Van Overmeire.

Orgelet blev bygget mellem 1776 og 1787 af Pieter Van Peteghem og sønnen Lambert-Benoit, fra den kendte orgelbyggerfamilie. I 1974 blev orgelet beskyttet, hvorefter det blev restaureret i 1981.

De farvede glas-ikoni-ruder fra perioden 1968-1974 er lavet af kunstglasmager Michiel Leenknegt fra Kwaremont.
