Katedralen er en gammelt biskopskirke i gotisk stil, genopbygget efter Første Verdenskrig med grave af biskop Jansenius og Grev Robrecht af Bethune, ‘Løven af Flandern'.
Der er et smukt sideskærm med retabel og mirakelbilledet af Vor Frue af Thuyne.
Etårnet er 100 m højt og er ikke tilgængeligt.
Lapidariumet indeholder gamle rester fra Sankt Marts præstegård. Klosterbygningen kan ses på nordsiden af katedralen.
Katedralen kan frit besøges, men ikke under gudstjenester og ikke mellem 12 og 14.
