Stedet kaldes dog Reetveerdegem.
I 2009 blev der lavet en film om det af den flamske instruktør Felix Van Groeningen.
Det giver et kontroversielt og råt syn på samfundet i kommunen gennem forfatterens briller, som fik publikumprisen De Gouden Uil Litteraturpris for.
