Disse huse er et af de smukkeste huse i byen. Disse perler var oprindeligt ejet af familien van Ranst. Sandsynligvis dannede van Ranst-husene ét stort hele. De nuværende boliger blev bygget af familien i det 17. århundrede efter ødelæggelsen af Tienen i 1635. De er et smukt eksempel på sammensmeltningen af forskellige strømninger som den traditionelle mursten og sandsten stil, den sene barok og Louis XIV-stilen.
