I det første weekend i maj bliver Munte beboet af kæmper! I spidsen Onkel Miele, Tante Nitte og deres efterkommere, sprunget ud af de komedier af Henri Van Daele og Romain De Coninck. Og også 'Muntemanden', forstørrelsen af statuetten i Torrekensstraat (lavet i 1977), er med. Antallet af kæmper voksede hastigt. I 1955 startede Onkel Miele alene, nu er det en blomstrende familie, især takket være den store fejring af 1000 år Munte i 1990. Mange kommuner fra regionen sender også deres kæmper til Munte den dag!
