Mortsel er en by i den belgiske provins Antwerpen. Byen har over 25.000 indbyggere. Inden for bygrænserne findes der ingen andre kerner. Byen tilhører valgkredsen Kontich og det ottende retterettens kanton Antwerpen.
Den ældste skriftlige omtale af Mortsel, som Mortsella, daterer sig tilbage til 1158. Navnet skulle være afledt af de germanske ord mor og sali. Sammenlagt giver dette "Et hus bestående af ét rum, bygget i moseområdet".
