Sint-Maria-Latem var en kommune, som efter den administrative reorganisering i 1971 blev fusioneret med den nye enhed Zwalm. Den ligger i provinsen Østflandern i den flamske region af Belgien. I 2001 havde den 629 indbyggere. En første skriftlig omtale af Laethem stammer fra 820. I 1175-1176 gav kapitlet i Kamerijk patronatet til Sankt Bavons kloster i Gent. Landsbyen Sint-Maria-Latem var en del af baroniet Gavere, som under kong Karl V blev til et fyrstestyre i landets Aalst.
