Station Puurs blev åbnet den 28. juli 1870 i Puurs sammen med baneafsnittet Mechelen-Bornem af virksomheden Mechelen-Terneuzen på jernbanelinje 54.
Den 22. juli 1880 blev det forbundet med stationen Dendermonde via jernbanelinje 52, og den 8. august 1881 blev det på samme linje forbundet med stationen Boom. I 1948 blev stationen overtaget af NMBS.
