The station Puurs was opened on July 28, 1870, in Puurs together with the Mechelen-Bornem section by the Mechelen-Terneuzen company on railway line 54.
On July 22, 1880, it was connected via railway line 52 to Dendermonde station and on August 8, 1881, on the same line to Boom station. In 1948, the station was taken over by the NMBS.
