Retning Zingem - Steenweg 1 - ligger det tidligere fattighus. Det blev stiftet i 1863 af Sabina De Groote, der siden 1836 havde været enke efter P. Fr. De Bock. Det blev oprindeligt drevet af lægfolk, for i 1896 at blive overtaget af de religiøse fra det Hellige Hjerte af Maria fra Nederbrakel. Frem til 1927 fungerede det som plejehjem. I dag er det ejet af OCMW og bruges regelmæssigt som udstillingsrum af IERMA (Ideas & Expressions of Real Modern Art). Edmond de Perre-Montigny var arkitekten. På facaden sidder en mindeplade med teksten: "stiftet af frøken Sabina De Groote, husmoder til hr. P. FR. De Bock, afdød i Asper den 30. april 1836". I Asper er bygningen kendt som 'Hof van de gebroeders Vandenberghe', en tidligere ejer.
