Adelardssvampen er den største svamp i Flandern. Mange betragter planten som ukrudt, fordi det kan komplicere foryngelsen af en skov. Dens store blade tager meget lys fra skovbunden, hvilket gør det sværere for unge træer at spire. Oprindelsen af dens navn kan du måske selv opdage med lidt fantasi: forestil dig bladene af svampen som de udfoldede vinger af en ørn. Og selvfølgelig er ørnen den største blandt fugle, ligesom adelardssvampen er den største blandt svampe!
