Denne dæmning forbinder De Klinge med Kieldrecht og er en direkte konsekvens af slutningen på den Trediveårige Krig. I 1673 er dette grænsen mellem de Spanske Nederlande og den nu uafhængige Republik af de Syv Forenede Nederlande. Spanierne stoler ikke på sagen. De anlægger dæmningen som beskyttelse mod oversvømmelse af deres områder. I dag er Koningsdijk primært en skøn cykelsti.
