Geistingen er en kirke landsby, der hører til Ophoven, en delkommune af den belgiske kommune Kinrooi i provinsen Limburg. Den ældste form er "Westingue" fra 1178. Skrivemåden med "g", i form af: Ghestinghen, Ghestingen, Guystingen, Geystingen, Geistingen, findes allerede i 1181, praktisk talt samtidig. Fra 1202 støder vi på navnet "Neder-Geistingen" for at skelne mellem "Op-Geistingen", det senere Ophoven, som derfor er yngre. Geistingen er altså blevet kaldt: Westingue - Ghestinghen - Neer-Geistingen - Geistingen.
