Bundet af hård i Hoogstraat, med rådhuset i det fjerne. Gaden er brostenen, med fortov på begge sider. Gadebilledet præges af de skilte fra de mange butikker. Dette er hjertet af centrum. På gaden: et par forbipasserende og en snusende hund. For resten, igen, ingen trafik.
Firmin Bogaertstræde set fra Hoogstraat. Til venstre et par smukke boliger, herunder kommuneskolen. Ligesom skolen er der et par godt bevarede. De socialboliger til højre blev revet ned. Der står mange mennesker samlet, og foran endnu en offentlig brønd.
Enden af Hoogstraat. Til venstre blandt andet Bryggeriet De Winne. Husene til højre blev nedbrudt i to faser. I stedet kom blandt andet 'Den Nye Port', delvist med en rekonstrueret facade fra det 19de århundrede.
