Hoogstraat (halfway between the corner of Hoogstraat and F. Bogaertstraat)

The bottom of the Hoogstraat, with the town hall in the distance. The street is cobbled, with a footpath on either side. The streetscape is dominated by the signs of the numerous shops. This is the heart of the center. On the street: a few passers-by and a sniffing dog. For the rest, again, no traffic.

The Firmin Bogaertstraat seen from the Hoogstraat. On the left are a few beautiful houses, including the Municipal School. Just like the school, a few were well preserved. The public housing on the right was demolished. There are a lot of people gathered and at the front again a public pump.

The end of the Hoogstraat. On the left, among other things, the De Winne Brewery. The houses on the right were demolished in two phases. It was replaced by, among other things, 'De Nieuwe Poort', with partly a reconstructed 19th-century façade.
