Naturgasledning
Omkring 1970 blev der anlagt to rørledninger tværs gennem landskabet De Liereman for at transportere naturgas til Frankrig. Ruten er tydeligt synlig i landskabet, da der ikke må vokse høje træer over rørledningerne. Hvor vegetationen holdes åben, forbliver hederne intakte. På de tørre steder trives lyng, og på de fugtige steder findes især almindelig klokke. I overgangsområderne, som for eksempel her, kan du finde begge arter sammen. I de mere næringsrige zoner vokser der rør.
