Overtagelsen af Diest var et vellykket overraskelsesangreb på byen Diest i hertugdømmet Brabant under den hollandske opstand.
Lordskabet Diest, en af de mindre byer i hertugdømmet Brabant, var en del af patrimoniet fra huset Nassau. I 1578 blev byens magistrater bedt om at acceptere en rebel garnison, og bad i stedet kongens guvernør, Don John af Østrig, om at stille en royal garnison til rådighed. Byen, strategisk placeret ved krydsene af vejene fra Maastricht til Antwerpen og fra Bruxelles til Roermond, blev derfor garnisoneret af vallonske og tyske soldater, der tjenestegjorde i Flanderns hær.
