Die Einnahme von Diest war ein erfolgreicher Überraschungsangriff auf die Stadt Diest im Herzogtum Brabant während des Niederländischen Aufstands.
Die Herrschaft Diest, eine der kleineren Städte im Herzogtum Brabant, gehörte zum Erbe des Hauses Nassau. Im Jahr 1578 wurden die Magistrate der Stadt aufgefordert, eine rebellische Garnison zu akzeptieren, und hatten stattdessen den Gouverneur Don Juan von Österreich gebeten, eine königliche Garnison bereitzustellen. Die Stadt, strategisch gelegen an den Kreuzungen der Straßen von Maastricht nach Antwerpen und von Brüssel nach Roermond, wurde dementsprechend von wallonischen und deutschen Soldaten, die im flämischen Heer dienten, garnisoniert.
