Stationet åbnede i 1891 langs linje 59, som indtil 1897 havde en sporvidde på 1151 mm i stedet for normalspor.
Det tidligere stationsbygning var af typen 1893 L8. I modsætning til andre stationer af typen 1893 blev der her ikke anvendt en aflastningsbue over vægåbningerne. Der er dog ikke længere tale om en bygning. Det lå på det sted, hvor der nu er cykelstativer og parkering.
