Fra en landbrugstælling fremgår det, at der i 1910 var mere end 10.000 hundemøller i vores land. Næsten hver stor gård havde en. Nu er der kun omkring tyve tilbage i hele Belgien, hvoraf der i Pajottenland stadig står mindst 6, blandt andet ved Pedemolen i Dilbeek, i Romont i Bever, i Lindestræde i Herne, i Gaubergstræde i Vollezele, dette restaurerede og klassificerede eksemplar i Woestijnstræde nær Woestijnkapellet i Gooik og endnu et eksemplar i Gooik, nemlig i Warandehof.
