De Maat-Den Diel (145 ha) kombinerer lavvandede moser, tør og våd heden, skove og vidtstrakte søer med brede rørkanter.
Den sjældne isfugl føler sig helt hjemme her. På en varm forårs aften sørger ribbede padder for en fantastisk koncert. Her bor desuden den største samling af guldsmede i Flandern (over 40 arter!).
Floraen er lige så imponerende. Norske fjordheste, skotske højlandskvæg og Kempens heideskæpper holder dette særlige landskab intakt.
Et must er den markerede naturvandring ‘Den Diel’ (4 km). Tilhører vandretnetværket Kempense Meren.
