Dette kunstneriske mindesmærke på Watoupladsen minder om Poesie-sommeren i 1988 og blev realiseret af Hugo Heyrman. I Dublin har denne kunstner allerede realiseret et mosaikprojekt, og på Watoupladsen "syntetiserer" han kortet over Europa i computerstil med grænsebyen Watou i midten af 64.500 venetianske glasmozaikker som bindemiddel mellem 2 europæiske kulturer. Kortet over Europa er indrammet i en malerpalette, og der mangler ikke lidt ironi hos kunstneren, der antyder Watou som "verdens centrum". Poesie-sommeren '88 havde titlen VISUALIA 88 - en måde at nærme sig på.
