Este artístico recuerdo en la Plaza Watou recuerda el Verano de la Poesía de 1988 y fue realizado por Hugo Heyrman. En Dublín, este artista ya había llevado a cabo un proyecto de mosaico y en la Plaza Watou "sintetiza" al estilo computarizado el mapa de Europa con en el centro 64,500 pequeñas piezas de mosaico de vidrio veneciano, usando el pueblo fronterizo de Watou como nexo entre 2 culturas europeas. El mapa de Europa está contenido en una paleta de pintor y no falta cierta ironía por parte del artista que sugiere a Watou como "el centro del mundo". El Verano de la Poesía '88 tenía como título VISUALIA 88 - una manera de acercarse.
