I midten af øst siden af Martelarenpladsen i Leuven står Fredmonumentet, et monument til minde om krigsofre fra Første Verdenskrig. Denne obelisk stammer fra 1925, men blev ødelagt af de tyske besættere under Anden Verdenskrig i 1940. I 2004 restaurerede byen Leuven Fredmonumentet.
Martelarenpladsen er pladsen foran stationen i Leuven i den belgiske by Leuven. Det er en af de største åbne pladser i byen, ved siden af Ladeuzepladsen og den Gamle Marked, og bruges regelmæssigt til store og mindre begivenheder.
