Det blev opført til minde om de civile og militære ofre fra Første og Anden Verdenskrig. Mindetavlen blev afsløret den 21. juli 1986.
Damme havde i første verdenskrig 4 krigsofre ud af en befolkning på 1216 indbyggere. Der blev 44 mænd indkaldt.
