Net før Anden Verdenskrig blev KW-linjen bygget for at beskytte Belgien mod en tysk invasion. Omkring 400 bunkere blev opført mellem Koningshooikt og Waver. Navnet KW står for de to yderste punkter.
Som her blev disse placeret på "strategiske" steder som i dette tilfælde Margijsbosweg. De fleste bunkere er ikke nedrevet og er nu ofte ideelle steder for flagermus.
