Et par dage efter beslutningen om at bruge landsbyen Brûly-de-Pesche som Hitlers hovedkvarter, besluttes det at fordrive befolkningen helt fra området. Den 27. og 28. maj 1940 evakueres 28 landsbyer omkring 'Ulvkløften'. Indbyggerne skal finde husly i Philippevile og Walcourt, uden at vide hvorfor de bliver sat ud af deres hjem. De kan ikke vende hjem før slutningen af juni og endda først i juli. Samtidig bliver der taget fangen af firs personer, som bliver fængslet i fængslet i Dinant.
