Alcuni giorni dopo la decisione di utilizzare il villaggio di Brûly-de-Pesche come quartier generale di Hitler, si decide di allontanare completamente la popolazione dalla regione. Il 27 e 28 maggio 1940 vengono evacuati 28 villaggi attorno al 'Wolfsravijn'. Gli abitanti devono trovare rifugio a Philippevile e Walcourt, senza sapere perché vengono cacciati dalle loro case. Non possono tornare a casa prima della fine di giugno e addirittura all'inizio di luglio. Allo stesso tempo, ottanta persone vengono sequestrate e rinchiuse nel carcere di Dinant.
