Immenhausen ligger i Nordhessen omkring tolv kilometer nord for centrum af Kassel ved sydvestskråningen af Reinhardswald. Byen gennemsives i øst-vest-retning af Holzkape, en biflod til Esse, der kommer fra Junkernkopf, som ligger fem kilometer nordøstlig, og optager Spechtenbeck under den centrale by. Fra denne bjerg udspringer også Osterbach, en biflod til Fulda, der løber gennem bydelen Holzhausen.
