Siegburg er hovedbyen og dermed administrationscenter for Rhein-Sieg-Kreis i regeringsområdet Köln. Den mellemstore by ligger i den sydlige del af Nordrhein-Westfalen og tilhører metropolregionerne Rheinland og Rhein-Ruhr.
Siegburg ligger cirka 8 km øst for Rhinen ved udmundingen af Agger i Sieg i den sydøstlige del af Kølns bugt, begrænset mod øst af højene i Bergiske Land og mod syd af Pleiser Hügelland. Siegburg har længere grænser til nabobyerne Troisdorf, Lohmar, Sankt Augustin og Hennef. De nærliggende storbyer Köln og Bonn kan hurtigt nås via gode transportforbindelser. Det højeste punkt i byområdet når godt 220 m over NHN i bydelen Braschoß, mens det laveste er knap 54 m over NHN ved Aggerudmundingen.
