Berlin-Staaken ligger i naturområdet Zehdenick-Spandauer Havelniederung. I nordøst grænser Staaken op til Falkenhagener Feld, mod øst ligger Klosterfelde mellem Staaken og centrum af distrikterne Spandau. Mod vest og syd danner bydelen den Berliner bygrænse til delstaten Brandenburg, mod nordvest til byen Falkensee, mod sydvest til Dallgow-Döberitz og mod syd til Seeburg.
Mens den historiske del af Staaken omkring den gamle landsby i nord og syd overvejende er præget af enfamiliehuse og havebyen Staaken, består den østlige del og Neu-Staaken hovedsageligt af store boligområder, der er opstået siden slutningen af 1950'erne frem til 1970'erne i flere byggetræk.
