Emmendingen er en by i det sydvestlige Baden-Württemberg, cirka 14 km nord for Freiburg im Breisgau. Siden 1. januar 1973 har Emmendingen været en stor kommune og med 28.466 indbyggere den største by og middelcentret i Emmendingen-distriktet. Byen har indgået en administrationsoverenskomst med kommunerne Freiamt, Malterdingen, Sexau og Teningen.
Byen ligger i Breisgau mellem forbjergzonen i Schwarzwald og Kaiserstuhl i Rheinebene i norddelen af den såkaldte Freiburger Bugt ved floden Elz i en højde på 189 til 403 meter.
