Seesen er en by i Landkreis Goslar, Niedersachsen, ved den nordvestlige kant af Harzen mellem Göttingen og Hannover. Den blev første gang nævnt i et dokument i 974 og fik byrettigheder i 1428.
Seesen ligger mellem det let bakkede Harz-forland og Harzen som det største mellemstore bjergområde i Nordtyskland og betragtes også på grund af sin gunstige beliggenhed som "Vinduet til Harzen".
