Meteoritten Neuschwanstein nåede Jorden den 6. april 2002 kl. 22:20:18 CEST nær Füssen i Bayern tæt på slot Neuschwanstein i det tysk-østrigske grænseområde.
Den oprindelige meteoroid eksploderede i en højde af cirka 22 kilometer over jorden i flere fragmenter, der faldt over et område på flere kvadratkilometer. Hidtil er tre af disse fragmenter med en samlet masse på omkring seks kilogram blevet bjærget. Neuschwanstein blev klassificeret som en enstatit-kondrit, en ekstremt sjælden gruppe inden for stenmeteorer. Den anses for at være den første meteor i Tyskland, der kunne erhverves ud fra simultane fotografiske optagelser.
