Det gotiske Aachener Rådhus er ved siden af domkirken den mest markante bygning i den historiske bykern i Aachen.
I første halvdel af det 14. århundrede opførte Aachens borgerskab under ledelse af deres siddende borgmester Gerhard Chorus et nyt rådhus som et tegn på deres borgerlige frihed. Indtil da havde det midt i det 13. århundrede opførte Grashaus fungeret som rådhus. Som et indgreb til de romersk-tyske konger måtte borgerskabet dog forpligte sig til at indrette en sal til det festlige krønningsmåltid i det nye rådhus. Byggeriet begyndte i 1330, hvor bygningen blev opført på fundamenterne af en forfalden paladsbygning fra Karolingertiden, Aula regia i kejserpaladset.
