Vandmøllen ved den hollandske grænse blev første gang nævnt i 1331. Den var påvist at være i biskoppelig besiddelse i 1350. Bygningen, som ligger ved Alstätter Aa, blev opført i 1619. En renovering udført af Peter Pictorius den Yngre er dokumenteret ved en inskription på våbenskjoldet fra fyrstbiskop Clemens August.
Fagværksbygningen med murstensudfyldning står på en massiv værkstensfod. Ankerbalkekonstruktionen blev udført med buede knaggar.
