Le moulin à eau à la frontière néerlandaise a été mentionné pour la première fois dans une charte de 1331. On peut dire qu’il était en possession épiscopale en 1350. Le bâtiment, situé sur l’Alstätter Aa, a été construit en 1619. Une rénovation de Pierre Pictorius le Jeune est documentée par une inscription sur les armoiries du prince-évêque Clément Auguste.
La maison à colombages avec remplissage en brique se dresse sur un socle en pierre massif. La construction de la poutre d’ancrage est équipée de boutons recourbés.
