Hele stationen med sine bygninger er fredet. Bevarede er modtagelsesbygningen, signalhuset, en godshus og toiletbygningen. Desuden hører vandtårnet, en pumpebygning, stationsmestergården og vaskehuset til ensemblet.
Stationen ligger på jernbanestrækningen Neustadt – Meyenburg vest for centrum af bydelen Blumenthal. I kommunen Heiligengrabe, som Blumenthal har tilhørt siden 2003, er der tre yderligere stationer med Rosenwinkel og Heiligengrabe samt Liebenthal på jernbanestrækningen Wittenberge–Strasburg. Stationen Blumenthal har to gennemgående spor og en ladelinje ved husperronen.
