Den Nye Vandtårn er et vartegn for Dessau. Vandtårnet er 63,50 m højt, og dets vandbeholder har en kapacitet på over 1000 m³. Den Nye Vandtårn anvendes ikke længere til vandforsyning.
Allerede i 1615 havde byen Dessau delvist en vandforsyning via bly- og også trærør, men de fleste Dessauere måtte bruge de offentlige brønde på gader og pladser, eller de havde en egen brønd. Først efter 1870 blev byen forsynet med et omfattende vandledningsnet. I 1875 blev der lagt grundstenen til den første Dessauer Vandtårn i Heidestraße, hvis vand dog var meget jernholdigt. I dag ligger det Statslige Hovedarkiv Sachsen-Anhalt, afdeling Dessau, i det Gamle Vandtårn.
