Boligen Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 77 er en fredet bygning i det Leipziger Bachviertel, når man kører fra Westplatz mod Waldplatz, bag den genåbnede Elstermühlgraben eller på den venstre vejside ved den Carl-Maria-von-Weber-nævnte promenade. Bygningen blev opført af Arwed Roßbach og blev på et tidspunkt i det 19. århundrede fejlagtigt kaldt Villa d'Avignon, fordi bygherren var købmanden Louis Davignon.
I 1863 købte Anton Schauer fra Gohlis grunden og lod fra 1864 opføre et to-etagers hus. Allerede i 1880 kom det til den velhavende Leipzig-købmand August Louis Davignon. Davignon gav den leipzigske arkitekt Arwed Roßbach til opgave at ombygge boligen til en villa. Faktisk drejede det sig dog ikke om en ombygning, men om nedrivning af Schauers bolig med efterfølgende opførelse af en ny bygning.
