Het woonhuis Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 77 is een gebouw dat onder monumentenzorg staat in het Bachviertel van Leipzig, te vinden aan de linkerkant van de straat terwijl men vanaf Westplatz in de richting van Waldplatz rijdt, achter de opnieuw blootgelegde Elstermühlgraben of aan de Uferpromenade die Carl-Maria-von-Weber-Straße genoemd wordt. Het gebouw is ontworpen door Arwed Roßbach en werd in de tijd van de bouw, in de 19e eeuw, ook wel Villa d'Avignon genoemd, omdat de opdrachtgever de koopman Louis Davignon was.
In 1863 verwierf de Gohliser Anton Schauer het perceel en liet daar vanaf 1864 een tweelaags woonhuis bouwen. Al in 1880 ging het naar de welgestelde Leipzigse koopman August Louis Davignon. Davignon gaf de Leipzigse architect Arwed Roßbach de opdracht om het woonhuis om te bouwen tot een villa. Feitelijk ging het echter niet om een verbouw, maar om de sloop van het woonhuis van Schauer en de daaropvolgende bouw van een nieuw gebouw.
