Gymnasiet Carolinum i Osnabrück betragtes som en af de ældste stadig eksisterende skoler i Tyskland. Ifølge overleveringen går dets grundlæggelse tilbage til Karl den Store i år 804. Det blev grundlagt som domskole og ligger stadig i centrum af Osnabrück lige ved siden af domkirken. Gymnasiet har i øjeblikket en naturvidenskabelig-matematisk, en samfundsfaglig, en moderne og en klassisk sproglig linje.
