Ruhrtalbanen er en delvist historisk jernbanelinje fra Düsseldorf-Rath over Essen-Kupferdreh, Bochum-Dahlhausen, Hattingen, Hattingen-Welper, Hattingen-Blankenstein, Witten-Herbede, Hagen-Vorhalle og Schwerte til Warburg. Den blev bygget mellem 1870 og 1876 af Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, en af de tre daværende, store private jernbaneselskaber i Ruhr-dalen. Linjen betragtes som et eksempel på, at floddale på grund af deres normalt jævne stigning dengang var særligt velegnede til anlæg af jernbanelinjer.
