I LWL-Römermuseum for Landskabsforbundet Westfalen-Lippe i Haltern am See åbnede i 1993. Her er de mest betydningsfulde fund fra alle romerske lejre langs Lippe udstillet. Romerske lejr Haltern var under felttogene i Germania magna en af de vigtigste baser for det Romerske Rige. I begyndelsen af det 1. århundrede e.Kr. var der her stationeret flere legionærer end nogen andre steder i det romerske rige.
