Slusehuset Prösen ligger ved Elsterwerda-Grödel-flåkanalen, der blev åbnet i 1748. Her stod engang et gammelt stråtagshus, hvor slusevogteren boede. Hans opgave var at gennemføre slusningen. Denne proces varede tolv minutter.
Ved den 21 km lange kanal var der fire sluser, fordi en højdifference på 2,744 m skulle overvindes. De med kvadersten indfasede slusebassiner er stadig synlige, mens de gamle, træslusedøre for længst ikke er til stede. Men i juni 1993 begyndte restaureringen af slusen i form af de to nye slusedøre.
