Neuwerk tilhører landsbyen Höhlenort Rübeland i byen Oberharz am Brocken i Landkreis Harz i Sachsen-Anhalt.
Karakteristisk for billedet af stedet er både husene bygget op ad skråningen i Bodetal samt det markante tårn fra den tidligere landsbyskole med det historiske urværk. Den tidligere betydning af minesamfundet vidner i dag Hüttens plads med gamle hyttebygninger og de mange grøfter til udnyttelse af vandkraft. Disse grøfter er delvist blevet gjort brugbare igen i den seneste fortid og bruges nu igen til at generere elektricitet ved hjælp af vandkraft. En anden særlighed er den højeste jernbaneviadukt i Nordtyskland i Kreuztal.
